I’m halfway done with my Luck Stars quilt. This
is my first quilt ever and I think it is coming out pretty well so far! The
pattern is a great one for beginners, very forgiving. I started this one quite a
while ago, but I think I will be done with the top before too long.
My current knitting project is the peace shawl. (a Fiber Trends pattern) I’m a little further along on this then the
picture shows. This is my first go at knitting lace and it has definitely been
a challenge. I’m getting very good at backtracking and fixing mistakes. The
yarn I’m using is beautiful, it is a 50% wool and 50% silk blend. When I’m done
with this one it will be a gift for Vicki Minor of the Wildland Firefighter Foundation. I know she could use a little peace after a fire season like this years.
I wound some yarn tonight so I can start on a new knitting project. For some reason I’m into hats at the moment. I’m going to make this one first (because I already have the yarn) and next will be the ultra-hip sock monkey hat!!! I haven’t really done any knitting lately except for a ton of felted bunnies for everyone we know who is having kids. It will be nice to do a project for me this time.
