and knitting. Let the baby crafting begin!
Here is the start of my first sweater. I decided to sign up for an 8-week sweater class over at frog pond knits. So far it has been great. I am a self-taught knitter so this is the first time I have actually knit with other people. I’m guessing that there are a lot of knitting tricks they don’t tell you in books, and hopefully I’ll learn some in this class.

Any ideas for what to knit with this yarn or stiches that would look good? The yarn is Vega (Anny Blatt) and I have 225 yds.(It has 2 strands, one strand of eyelash and the gray strand that varies in size) I 'm thinking something shawlish.
I missed the 'show us a warm scarf' vox hunt last week but since I took the pictures I'll post them now. The red and gold one is my Harry Potter scarf and Rob is modeling my fuzzy pink stripe scarf.
Speaking of yarn, I found a great new yarn store this week. The people there are much friendlier then the other place I was going. I bought some baby alpaca yarn by Misti Alpaca while I was there and I LOVE it. It is so soft, I could knit with it all day. The yarn is for a Christmas project, I'll post some pics for neighbors only later today.
In an unfortunate “dog petting gone wrong”
incident on Thanksgiving Day Rob got a very nice laceration on his hand. It was
a good enough bite that we ended up at urgent care where Rob got a few stitches
and a tetanus shot. The doctor gave him a stretchy white tube to use to hold
the bandages in place. I don’t want him to look uncool so when we got home I
knitted up this nice fingerless glove to use instead. I call it the dog bite cozy.
(his hand seems to be healing up just fine, we had it checked at the doc today
and all was good)

I just finished knitting the wave hat. It was
fast and easy and I really like the way it came out. I’ll have to make a
matching hat for my husband so we can wear them out together and be total
dorks. I would like to figure out how to do a flame hat. This was so easy, it
will just be a matter of breaking out the graph paper and figuring out how I
want it to look.
I wound some yarn tonight so I can start on a new knitting project. For some reason I’m into hats at the moment. I’m going to make this one first (because I already have the yarn) and next will be the ultra-hip sock monkey hat!!! I haven’t really done any knitting lately except for a ton of felted bunnies for everyone we know who is having kids. It will be nice to do a project for me this time.
